Crowmoor nursery and preschool opened in 2019, working in partnership with Crowmoor Primary school. To view the brilliant standard of care and education on offer, and the excellent facilities, a visit to the nursery is essential. Please telephone to arrange a convenient time, we look forward to meeting you and your family.
At Crowmoor Nursery we nurture and care for your child to ensure that their transition from the familiarity of home into our environment allows both you and your child to feel confident in our care. We recognise and celebrate that all children are individuals and we encourage them to become confident, independent and to develop their own sense of self.
At Crowmoor Nursery, we have taken great care in choosing a committed, enthusiastic and professional team of staff, ensuring that experience, professionalism and qualifications are held to a high standard. All our staff are hired in line with Ofsted and EYFS requirements and hold relevant DBS checks. We consider it very important that children build up a relationship with their Key person over a period of time and we follow the current guidelines of the Early Years Foundation Stage. This focuses on each individual child’s interests and abilities. Your child’s key person will observe your child to ensure that activities planned are meeting all of their developmental needs and are then able to plan the next steps for your child’s play, learning and development.
Learning journeys are completed on an online system called Eylog, these are secure profiles which parents are able to access online or by downloading the Eylog app. Throughout your child’s time at Crowmoor Nursery you will be given weekly updates of what activities your child has been doing, you will also be given termly reports to monitor and support your child’s development.
The Nursery has access to many school facilities such as an amazing forest school area where children can explore and use their imagination. The Toddler room cares for children from 2 years of age. From here the children then enter the Pre-school from aged 3. Each room works closely together and we often spend time joined up within each room which we find is very beneficial for children’s transitions. We also work closely with the school, often joining them for activities or events to support the children’s transition into the school also. All rooms are self-contained and have access to their own outdoor areas. The secure garden’s are in use daily, regardless of the weather, with a selection of ride along toys, tricycles, sand and water, and a variety of outdoor games. Within each room there is also a variety of activities and resources on offer to support creative and messy play, imaginative play, physical development construction play, social skills and within our Pre-school room many activities that support school readiness.
Check out our Facebook page for information about events, activities and proof, as if you needed it, that the children are having a fun and educational experience!
