'Staff provide children and their families with a warm welcome to the nursery. Staff understand their role to keep children safe. '
This spacious room caters for children usually from 3 months to 2 years of age (this is regularly reviewed to meet the needs of the individual children). The room is based on natural spaces and calming tones, with the feel of being 'home from home'. The room itself is split into areas of learning, with a creative/messy area, sensory areas, and the children enjoy access to daily sand and water play. The inviting toys and props aid and stimulate the children’s learning, especially enjoying access to daily sensory play and story time in our very own story dome. The room also benefits from having beautiful French doors which lead out onto its own free-flow garden area. This has artificial grass, so children can explore outdoors at their own age and stage.
This room caters for children aged 2 years old until around 3 years of age (this is reviewed regularly to meet the needs of the individual children). We offer 24U funded spaces within this room. The room is a large area of space, which has recently been revamped with new flooring, along with the rest of the nursery provision offering a home from home feel. Tuff trays are used within the individual areas, in line with the children’s current interests. The room benefits from a large reception room, which parents/carers can access through the outdoor free-flow area upon pick up and collection of their children. Areas include a mark making area/literacy area, cosy story dome, construction and building area, small world, mathematics and technology area, and also a creative play table which includes a range of messy play and painting activities daily!

This is our largest of rooms and can provide care for up to 30 children. attached is a low-level bathroom, which children can access freely throughout the day with adult support.
The room holds age appropriate resources in each of its many areas. These are: Mathematical area, home corner, small world, creative and early literacy areas. The room is open plan and the children are regularly stimulated by fun and exciting activities that promote independence and challenge the children to become critical thinkers, supporting school readiness.
The children are regularly involved in decision making and staff within the room work inline with the EYFS to understand where the children are working developmentally. Each child is planned for with high expectations for their individual needs. following their interests. We work alongside local schools with visits to ensure a smooth transition for the children.
We enjoy visits from Kickstars and The Shropshire Music Service, which have proved to be extremely popular with all the children.
Along with the rooms' individual outside areas, we are proud to also have our gardened areas which the staff take the children to use, either in small groups or as a whole. We have a playground area at the back of the setting, with a woodland area where older children explore woodland session groups. This has wooden climbing apparatus and wooden seating with trees and greenery all around. The children love to explore and use their imagination to the next level! This can be used in all seasons to look at how the environment changes around us.
We also have a large grassed garden to the front of the building, securely covered and gated away from the entrance. These are ideal areas for picnics, exploring and climbing our pirate ship and wonderful additional growing areas for the children to help assist with further. We have recently added a large sand area, and wooden bridge and hut, providing more opportunities to imagine and explore. We have a separate gardening area, where the children have enjoyed growing their own vegetables and plants alongside the team from the nearby allotments.
